<I>"I cannot have public confusion between scientific advice and policy and have therefore lost confidence in your ability to advise me as Chair of the ACMD."</I>

What strikes me as an encouraging thought is the scale of the disconnect; that the Postie sees advice based on science as being less important than the policy it is justifying, or not as is the case here. The cognitive disonance of this mentality cannot be sustained even by the group mindset they all espouse.

Doublethink is alive and well, and our minds are not as addled by Victory Gin and revised propoganda as they would like.

This is spooky. I've just put on a West Wind DVD and the story is about the Surgeon General saying Marijuana is less dangerous than nictine and should be legalised.

Isn't it strange that Jackboot, and now Postie have the same attitude: agree with our present political expediency, regardless of scientific evidence, or you're out. If they applied this "principle" to every aspect of government, all those expensive consultants could be sacked too. That would save an awful lot of our money, probably enough to keep the Home Office in coke for a long time. Now my head hurts and I'm going to lie down (with a big spliff of course).
